TV series generates a buzz in schools

A new original television series called Flow in My School is focusing on the innovative use of technology in Jamaican schools. The series is hosted on Flow TV.

According to the manager of the project Nicole Campbell - "Along with our partners at the Ministry of Education, HP, Microsoft and Jamaica Observer, we saw this competition and the series of associated activities as a fantastic opportunity to share best practices among Jamaican schools that are using broadband technology powered by Flow."

The main focus of the programme is on how technology is being used to change the teaching and learning in primary and secondary schools so that pupils can gain more.

Jessie Ripoll Primary, Windward Road Primary and Junior High, Angels Primary, Rollington Town Primary, St Elizabeth Technical High and Meadowbrook High are amongst the schools that are involved.

The mini-series forms a part of  Flow’s In My School Technology Competition, which further forms a part of Flow's recognition that the use of technology  is able to improve the performance of student and teacher and it also provides a platform to underscore the best ways of using technology in education.
