Samuda Out Johnson-Smith In

Key education figures who have declined to be named are calling on Prime Minister Andrew Holness to make two key decisions as it relates to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information. The first one is in regards to a permanent minister for the Ministry of Education, Youth & Information and the other is a decision on the position of permanent secretary.
Karl Samuda was brought in to stabilize the ship following the departure of Ruel Reid after allegations of impropriety and since then he has been acting in the role. It is being suggested that Karl Samuda has done a fair job of stabilizing the ministry, however, it is now felt that it is time the Prime Minister appoints a permanent person to the position.
The name being put forward as the best person for the post of Minister is Senator Johnson-Smith. It is believed that she is the best person to lead the Ministry and that her skills, leadership and temperament are all aligned.
