Education minister praises progress made on International Day of Persons with Disabilities



KINGSTON, Jamaica — Minister of Education, Youth and Information, Senator Ruel Reid, in a release from his ministry, is praising the advances made for persons with disabilities as Jamaica joins the global community in marking today as International Day of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).

December 3 has been celebrated as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities since 1992 when the United Nations General Assembly declared it as such. The theme under which the day will be celebrated this year is: “Transformation towards sustainable and resilient society for all”.
